Our Story begins over 40 years ago when the firm’s founder Tom Pasqua, began his CPA career with Deloitte, providing Business, Tax and Estate Planning services to Closely Held Business Owners.

It was during Tom’s tenure at Deloitte where the firm’s pervasive culture of providing independent and objective advice first took hold. Tom advised business owners on how to keep more of what they made, advised on the most advantageous vehicles to use to accumulate funds for personal use, and helped set in motion the business owners exit strategy and estate plan.

Tom’s subsequent experience came from both Cigna and Merrill Lynch where he again specialized in the business owner market. His goal was to provide clients the financial, tax and investment strategies needed to best protect and grow their personal assets, and to provide fringe benefit strategies to maximize the benefits clients received from their business.

There came a time however when it became clear that the “fiduciary standard” of CPAs and Registered Investment Advisors (RIA) was the more effective and acceptable standard under which clients should be serviced when compared to the commission or “suitability standard” under which companies in the broker/dealer, mutual fund and insurance industries operate. Consequently, the decision was made to start Pasqua, CPA.

In 2001, the firm was founded as a CPA firm specializing in fee based Financial Planning. Tom combined his unique skill set and experience to develop a firm focused on providing closely-held business owners those financial and investment related strategies designed to preserve and grow their personal net worth.

In 2006, the firm became a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm and now operates in a fiduciary capacity as both a CPA and RIA firm. In such capacity, Pasqua CPA never receives a commission for any implemented recommendation.

In 2010, Jon Pasqua joined the firm as proposed ERISA regulations on retirement plans started pointing toward a greater need for RIA services for corporate plan sponsors. As the firm began servicing plan sponsors and their participants, it was Jon’s responsibility to consult with plan participants and assist them with their retirement planning needs.

Over the years, Jon excelled in helping individuals from a financial and investment perspective. He also pursued the most advanced education curriculums available in the fields of investments and financial planning, striving to become as professionally competent and technically proficient as possible.

Jon now holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA®) and has also obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification (CFP®). Currently, he is using his enhanced knowledge as an integral contributor to providing clients with the Pasqua CPA “team approach”. By collaborating with Tom Pasqua, CPA, every client now benefits from having their situations analyzed from three different professional perspectives.

And it is through Tom and Jon’s collaborative effort that clients receive the benefit of the firm’s “coordinating effect” realized when all of the planning areas applicable to business owners are properly coordinated with each other producing the greatest efficiencies while maximizing results.

Moving Forward, Pasqua CPA will continue on their quest to give Business Owners the very best financial and investment advisory services available through our fiduciary based “team approach”.
